Arkansas football hosts the no. 3 in Texas today, hoping to secure bowl eligibility while also getting an upset against one of the school’s oldest rivals.

The Razorbacks (5-4, 3-3 SEC) and Longhorns (8-1, 4-1) will play for the 80th time Saturday in the first SEC matchup between the two programs. Texas owns a 56-23 record against Arkansas, but the Hogs have won the last two editions of the old Southwest Conference rivalry.

Arkansas is about to take a bye, but the Razorbacks fell into place Miss Ole 63-31 in their last game. Rebels quarterback Jaxson Dart torched the Arkansas secondary in the blowout, and the Hogs will have to play much better on the back end against Quinn Ewers and the Longhorns.

Texas rolled over Florida 49-17 last week as it continues to march toward a potential spot in the College Football Playoff. The Longhorns control their destiny and will clinch a spot in the SEC Championship with three more wins.
