What is SEC Network+? How to watch Alabama football vs. Mercer

Alabama football’s Saturday game with Mercer at Bryant-Denny Stadium will not be broadcast on regular television or cable. Instead, the game can only be viewed via the Internet.

Each SEC team must play one game each season on SEC Network+. Saturday’s game will be Alabama’s designated matchup on the platform.

SEC Network+ is a digital platform intended to complement regular SEC Network programming. It shows select non-conference football games.

How to access SEC Network+

Cable or satellite subscribers who have SEC Network as part of their package are in good shape for SEC Network+. They can simply go to ESPN’s website and log into their provider, find the game and watch it from a computer.

ESPN also has apps for phones and tablets, as well as streaming boxes like Roku, Apple TV, Amazon Fire and more. Again, those with cable or satellite subscriptions that include the regular SEC Network can simply log into the app, available in each box’s app store, and watch the game.

For those who don’t have traditional cable or satellite subscriptions, but have streaming packages like Sling, YouTube TV, Hulu with Live TV, Fubo, etc., the process would work exactly the same if you use the ESPN website or app.

For those who don’t subscribe to a streaming service, cable or satellite, ESPN+ is an option. The service is a stand-alone streaming option that offers live sports and original programming on its own, along with additional website content.

It also includes access to SEC Network+. ESPN+ currently costs $11.99 per month.

To subscribe, simply go to ESPN’s website and look for the logo, then fill in the required information.

Alabama and Mercer are scheduled to start at 1pm CT in Tuscaloosa.
