Conor McGregor deletes sick social media post after Jake Paul punches Mike Tyson

Conor McGregor has deleted a controversial social media post mocking paralyzed boxer Prichard Colon following Jake Paul’s victory over Mike Tyson in Texas.

The former UFC champion suggested that Colon could be Paul’s next opponent, sparking widespread outrage across social media platforms.

McGregor’s night went from bad to worse when he also lost £800,000 after backing Tyson to win by knockout in a pre-fight bet.

The Irishman had posted “They are eyeing Prichard Colon for next opponent” on X, formerly Twitter, before quickly removing the message after intense criticism from boxing fans and pundits alike.

American-Puerto Rican boxer Colon suffered life-changing injuries in a fight against Terrel Williams in 2015, where he was repeatedly punched in the back of the head.

He collapsed in his dressing room after the game and suffered a brain haemorrhage that left him in a coma for 221 days.

“He’s just cringing right now. It’s disgusting,” commented another.

The controversy comes amid criticism of Paul’s tendency to pick mismatched opponents, with UFC boss Dana White mockingly suggesting: “If he beats Mike Tyson, he’s going to fight Clint Eastwood next. Clint Eastwood is 93 years old.”

Paul dominated the 58-year-old Tyson in their Netflix-streamed bout, securing a unanimous decision victory at AT&T Stadium.

“This man is an icon. It’s just an honor to be able to fight him.”

Tyson, who wore a knee brace during the fight, landed just 18 punches in 16 minutes of boxing but refused to make excuses.

“Yeah, but I can’t use that as an excuse because if I did I wouldn’t be in here,” he said.
