Jake Paul plans to call out Canelo (again) after Mike Tyson fight – ‘This Moment Will Prove That I’m The Face Of Boxing’

“El Gallo” is already looking forward.

Heavyweight boxing legend Mike Tyson versus YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul finally goes down this week (Friday, November 15, 2024) from inside AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, streaming live on a historic Netflix broadcast.

While Paul has a killer ahead of him, albeit a 58-year-old killer, he’s already looking to the future and making plans for his post-match call.

“I have (have an explanation), it’s Canelo,” Paul said then Sean O’Malley asked if he had a name in mind. “This moment will prove that I am the face of boxing, the biggest attraction. Me vs. Canelo at 200 pounds for the world cruiserweight championship is the biggest fight – arguably even bigger than me vs. Tyson. It makes so much sense. You know, Canelo is on his way out, he wants a payday and I want to show the world that all the crap I’ve been talking about beating Canelo is actually true.”

“I want the biggest upset in the sport of boxing and we’re going to fight to see who is actually the face of boxing because after this event I’m going to claim it. I beat his gate record in Texas; I beat the box office. The numbers and the data shows it. I have more followers than him, etc. And this is going to be the most watched fight of this century, so I’m going to be the new money magnet,” Paul concluded.

Paul has been angling for an Alvarez fight since before his first fight with Tyron Woodley in 2021 and has mentioned the potential mega-fight ever since.

Alvarez has agreed to fight “El Gallo,” but only after he’s done boxing, which it appears won’t happen for several years.

Still, maybe a viral knockout of “Iron” Mike will piss Alvarez off enough to fight the 27-year-old boxer at The Sphere.

Time will tell.
