Jake “The Problem Child” Paul has lived up to his namesake leading up to his highly anticipated fight against Mike Tyson. A former YouTuber, Paul knows how to market himself, how to create content and how to build hype for events that he is involved with.

At Thursday night’s weigh-in, Tyson punched Paul after Paul allegedly stepped on his foot while the two were face to face. Paul wasted no time hanging up on Tyson. After Tyson left the stage, Paul told fans that Tyson did it personally and that “he has to die.”

Now, 24 hours after the second most infamous slap between two celebrities, it looks like Paul hasn’t let that disrespect go.

Jake Paul: ‘I’ll beat (Tyson) that (expletive) out’

During a pre-fight interview with Ariel Helwani, Paul said he was glad Tyson beat him because it “made it personal.”

“I’m so glad he did it. You know, this makes it real,” Paul said. “When I beat his (expletive) in a few moments here, nobody can say anything. People want to see me fail. They want to see me lose. They want to see me get knocked out. And then they’re going to come along excuses for Mike Tyson when he’s the one doing it. But now they can’t (expletive) out.”

Why did Mike Tyson beat Jake Paul?

Later in the interview, Helwani explained Tyson’s claim that Paul stepped on his foot. Paul wore shoes at the weigh-in; Tyson was not. Tyson believes Paul’s actions were deliberate.

Although Paul did not deny stepping on Tyson’s foot, he did not apologize. Rather, the 27-year-old antagonized Tyson, exclaiming in a baby voice, “Oh, I stepped on his witty toe?” He continued: “Isn’t he the big bad Mike Tyson. He’s just looking for an excuse to get upset.”
