Washington Commanders at Philadelphia Eagles predictions

The Philadelphia Eagles are on a five-game winning streak and can continue their streak with a convincing Thursday Night Football victory over the Washington Commanders at Lincoln Financial Field.

The Eagles’ last five wins came by an average of 16.4 points, and while doubters will point to the quality of the opposition — Cleveland, the New York Giants, Jacksonville, Cincinnati and Dallas without Dak Prescott — it’s still an impressive stretch of results .

The hosts are doing what they do best – dominating opponents with a healthy running game, explosive plays and formidable defense.

It has been argued that Washington’s Jayden Daniels has eclipsed Jalen Hurts as the NFC East’s top quarterback and that Washington, not Philadelphia, is the team to beat in the conference this season, so the Eagles should be on board with this content.

After a straightforward 34-6 win against the Prescott-less Cowboys, Philly returns home feeling good.

The Commanders, meanwhile, suffered their first loss in four weeks against Pittsburgh on Sunday, leaving with starter Brian Robinson Jr. and three offensive linemen who were all doubtful for this one.

Washington has been resilient and has covered the spread in seven games this season, but it looks to be a tough matchup against an Eagles team that ranks in the top two in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns per game.

The Commanders are among the worst units in the NFL against the run, and over the past three weeks have allowed more than 500 rushing yards to three mediocre units in the Bears, Giants and Steelers.

On the other side of the ball, Philly’s defense is improving, and Daniels is finally showing some imperfections in his rookie season, throwing for just 411 yards and two TDs on a 59 percent completion rate over the Commanders’ last two games.
