Trump ally Alina Habba denies rumors about the press secretary’s role

President-elect Donald Trump’s former lawyer Alina Habba made it clear early Thursday that she is not in the running to become his next White House press secretary.

“While I’m flattered by the support and speculation, the role of press secretary is not one I’m considering,” Habba, 40, said on X of the mail she was much rumored to get.

“Although I love to scream from a podium, I would be better served in other functions,” she joked.

“This administration is going to be epic! So proud of the Trump team, recent appointments and 47!”

It comes just days after Habba said she would “very seriously” consider the possibility after being asked repeatedly during a Fox News appearance about recent reports that she was a frontrunner for the role.

“I’ll leave it up to the president and the three people who are on my board — that’s Luke, Chloe and Parker, my kids. Everybody will know in time,” the lawyer told host Sean Hannity.

She declined to elaborate on whether she had had any discussions with the Trump-Vance transition team about serving in the incoming administration.

“They’re killing it on every front … It’s time to have ‘America First’ advocacy, and whatever that looks like for President Trump and his team, I trust that. That’s a decision for all of them to make .Not me,” Habba told the broadcast.
