BLACKPINK’s Lisa recently opened up about her career decisions, and her candid remarks are causing a storm among fans, who are directing their frustrations directly at YG Entertainment. On November 13, Vanity Fair released its 2025 The Hollywood Issue, an annual celebration that spotlights the movie stars who are making a buzz in Hollywood. Among these characters, Lisa appeared on the list, marking her foray into acting with her role in The White Lotus. In her game interview, Lisa discussed various topics, including her bold move to establish her own label, LLOUD, after leaving YG Entertainment.

She reflected on how this move was necessary to fully pursue her solo career ambitions. “It was a big risk. I just wanted a team that was really focused on me and focused on my solo projects and have support when I think, ‘Oh, I want to do something,'” Lisa shared.

Her words hit a nerve with fans, who feel her statement highlights a lack of support from YG Entertainment for her solo aspirations. Fans vented their frustrations and interpreted her decision to leave as a clear indication that YG had stifled her career.

“It’s sad how she got less attention while in YG,” one fan wrote.

“Bcz YG never cared about her as an artist and went as far as trying to sabotage her when she had one of the biggest songs at the time with Money,” one user wrote.

This wave of anger reflects a growing sentiment among fans who feel that YG Entertainment did not give Lisa the spotlight she deserved. Many others celebrated her move, seeing it as a step towards autonomy and empowerment for the beloved singer.

“Honestly, every idol deserves it. Cheering for them to break free from the companies that abuse like that,” said one fan.

Many others echoed the sentiment on X (formerly Twitter), with comments such as “leaving YG and owning all her masters is the best thing she’s ever done,” and “Ohhh, so YG had very little staff and poor organization.”

Lisa is not the first BLACKPINK member to make headlines over issues with YG Entertainment. Just last month, her bandmate Rose stirred similar feelings with her comments about the limited solo opportunities she’s had. During a Z100 interview, when asked about her performance plans, Rose expressed her hopes and challenges, admitting, “To be honest, because I’ve never had 12 songs in my life before, only had two real ones, I had to to live it up a little bit,” reports Koreaboo.
