Sports fans have been waiting for this match for a while now and quite frankly, . But Jake Paul and Mike Tyson finally get their much-hyped boxing match this coming Friday night and will be available to stream with a . Both fighters on the card hosted an open workout days before the big night. And as someone who watched both fighters train, there were a few things that stood out to me.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to make the trip to Irving, Texas in person to see the two showcase their skills. So I’m grateful for that pulled through with full videos of both fighters. I saw some elements that I liked and some that worried me a little. Here’s what stood out.

I don’t claim to be a professional boxing analyst, but right from the start it was clear who was the more technically skilled fighter of the two. Mike Tyson may be the elder statesman and well past his prime, but in training the iconic combinations looked as devastating as they did decades ago. Tyson seemed to put an emphasis on quick head kicks to weave and set up body combos and it makes me think now that I guessed Tyson could use them to slow down his younger opponent. I was also shocked at how fast Tyson moved, especially in relation to his opponent.

Jake Paul moved slower and after watching both practices back to back, it was jarring to see his lack of technical skills. His fastest line of punches was a quick one-two combo at the top, but there was almost no weaving or anything more complex than just throwing hard punches. He didn’t look like someone who could stand against a modern day championship fighter. So if I were him I would reconsider his.

For as good as Mike Tyson looked in the ring, I must point out that he was sweating profusely by the end of the session. It was a little worrying for me because the sparring session only lasted about three minutes. It now seems clear why, and I think there’s a good chance he’ll gas early if this goes beyond a third round. All that said, Jake Paul wasn’t exactly jumping around at the end of his session either, so maybe that will factor into his stamina as well.

Although I must emphasize that this was a training session, Jake Paul seemed to hit harder during his session compared to Mike Tyson. Although it doesn’t matter much, I don’t think there is any doubt who is the physically superior of the two in this training session. It seems to me that Paul has made sure to bulk up as much as possible to withstand Tyson’s devastating punches and hope that he can take over the fight in the final rounds and throw some devastating haymakers.

Of course, this also assumes that the YouTuber takes this fight seriously enough to have a game plan. And considering he was wearing a chicken wig and during practice I have to question how named the viral sensation is.

We’ll see who beats who when Jake Paul and Mike Tyson battle it out in their Netflix showdown on Friday, November 15. I am very excited to see this fight and I still have no idea who will come out on top. Ultimately I think it will depend on what happens in the early rounds, so be sure to pay close attention.
