Top Thanksgiving turkey prices at stores including Aldi, Lidl, Grocery Outlet and Walmart

For the second year in a row, Thanksgiving’s centerpiece, the turkey, will cost less.

Retailers including Target and Walmart are announcing lower prices on holiday meal essentials, while analysts are noting a slight drop in turkey prices from last year.

Supply chains have mostly improved since the pandemic, while the effects of bird flu have weakened. Families have also turned to alternatives such as ham in recent years.

When it comes to turkey prices, it’s always best to shop around. Many grocery stores offer turkey promotions for rewards members who accumulate enough points. Others advertise promotions or lower prices to attract customers to their stores.

As in previous years, we conducted an unofficial price check at grocery stores in the Harrisburg area. This is how turkey prices look this year:

Aldi
