DWTS’ Sasha Farber Reacts to Jenn Tran’s Ex Devin Strader Dismissing Him for Having a ‘Girl’s Name’

Oh snap! Dancing with the stars pro Sasha Farber had an epic response to his Season 33 partner Jen Tran‘s ex Devin Strader dissing him for having a “girl’s name”.

“The name Sasha is short for Alexander,” Sasha, 40, wrote in a Monday, Nov. 11, Instagram Story. “You know who else had the name Alexander the Great!!! FYI,” he added along with a laughing emoji.

The response came after Devin, 28, responded to a fan who wrote in the comments of her Nov. 9 Instagram post, “Jenn found a great guy his name is Sasha,” hinting at speculation that Jenn, 26, is dating her DWTS partner. “It’s a girl’s name,” he wrote in response.

Some users chastised Devin for being childish.

One person told him, “Devin is also a girl’s name.” Referring to Jenn, another user wrote: “Not only did she dodge a bullet with you, but a whole ass grenade. You don’t want to come after Sasha … He’s only 10. You on the other hand … you’re tall. Congratulations.”

“Sasha is half the man you should aspire to be. Someone who disparages other people’s significant others in the comments is not a man. That’s a boy,” one user noted, while another commented: “Everybody would kindly leave you alone if you let her hot new boyfriend’s name out of your rubbery mouth.”

Devin eventually wrote to those critical of his comment: “Hey! STFU! This is my Instagram!”

Sasha and Jenn was eliminated in week 7 DWTS on the October 29 episode, despite receiving their first 10 of the season and winning their dance-off against Olympic Gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik and pro Rylee Arnold.

The duo hinted that their story together wasn’t over despite the elimination when they shared a cryptic TikTok video on October 31.

“Private rehearsals start ASAP,” Jenn captioned the clip, which showed her knocking on Sasha’s door at home. Sasha then opened the door and they embraced in a sweet hug.

“When one door closes, another door opens,” Jenn mouthed to a viral sound in the clip. “We so often look so long and so regretfully at the closed door that we do not see those who open to us.”

Some fans in the comments felt that Jenn and Sasha were “soft launching” a romance, while DWTS members seemed to think so too.

“I give this a 100 (smiling emoji) Happy for you two,” judge Derek Hough wrote along with a red heart emoji. Meanwhile, professional dancer Ezra Sosa commented, “I’ll send it.”

Jenn’s brother, James, fueled dating rumors with a curious comment he left on a Nov. 3 video she shared on Instagram documenting her journey on DWTS.

“Am I a star or are you a star?” Jenn asked Sasha during a rehearsal, referring to the show’s name. He grabbed her hand and replied sweetly, “You are my star!”

“When is the wedding rehearsal?” James asked

Jenn and Sasha continued to fuel dating speculation when they attended the Los Angeles premiere of Evil on November 9 as each other’s dates.

Jenn chose Devin as her final rose recipient in season 21 of The Bachelor. While he proposed in the show’s finale – which was filmed in June – the couple were split by the time it aired on September 3 when Jenn revealed she was dumped via a phone call.

“I promised my life to someone who I thought would put all his effort into the relationship. I didn’t feel like that. I felt like I was secondary to everything in his life,” she said through tears during After the Final Rose particular. “He didn’t introduce me to his family anymore. Every little thing made me feel secondary to his life and I didn’t understand why.”

After the pair had an awkward first meeting since their split during ATFR, Jenn said she was happy to finally have “closure” during a Sept. 4 performance Good morning America the morning after her split from Devin was revealed. “I just needed to get it off my chest and start a clean slate and move on with my life,” she shared.

“I was so happy and I was so ready to start our life together. But I had realized that his energy had changed and his priorities had changed. He wasn’t the same person on the show that he was away from the show,” Jenn added. “I’m very confident in knowing that it’s still what I want. Unfortunately, he just wasn’t the man he told himself to be.”
