Vancouver’s Gray Cup show was rained out until Friday

An aerial drone show scheduled for Wednesday night as part of the Gray Cup festivities in Vancouver has been rain-checked until Friday.

Gray Cup Festival says the drone show by Pixel Sky Animations will instead take to the skies on November 15 at 9:30 p.m., “due to potential weather impacts on drone safety.”

Environment and Climate Change Canada says a “severe” storm rolled across BC’s coast Tuesday night and precipitation is expected to continue through Wednesday evening – and beyond.

The electric ‘Kickoff Party’ featuring a performance by Vancouver-born DJ Felix Cartal at Canada Place is still scheduled to begin at 6pm on Tuesday.

Pixel Sky Animations says its show will consist of 1,000 drones flying over the waterfront between the Vancouver Convention Center and the Westin Bayshore Hotel.

Several other events are planned around Vancouver prior to the 111th Gray Cup at BC Place on November 17th.
