GOP Sen. Katie Britt floats Lara Trump to fill Marco Rubio’s Florida vacancy

President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet appointments have encouraged a job shuffle, with Republicans clamoring to climb to higher roles. The latest to win a promotion could be Trump’s daughter-in-law, Lara Trump.

In an interview with AxiosAlabama Republican Sen. Katie Britt lobbied for Lara, who currently serves as RNC co-chair, to fill Marco Rubio’s soon-to-be-vacant Senate seat — if Trump actually picks him as secretary of state in his administration.

According to Britt, Lara understands the “agenda”.

“She understands the America First agenda,” she added. “To me, I think she would be a great choice, a voice for hard-working families and another mom to school-age kids who understands what we’re up against, and that’s fighting to protect the American dream.”

Plus, Lara “just got a historic win,” Britt said, referring to Lara’s role in delivering more MAGA-leaning votes with the help of her BFF Scott Presler.

Lara has not officially commented on the public support. But as these things typically go, no one wants what they say they want.
