The Boston Celtics lost their first NBA Cup game of the season to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night. The loss moved them to 9-3 on the year and 0-1 in the NBA Cup, and it was an ugly one. Atlanta outplayed them in every aspect of the game. Joe Mazzulla admitted as much after the contest.

As for the Brooklyn Nets, they just barely came through in their last game on Monday, earning a win against the New Orleans Pelicans. Brooklyn and Boston played just a few games ago, and despite the Nets jumping out to an early 16-2 lead, the Celtics managed to crawl all the way back for a win.

last match, Jayson Tatum was doubtful to play due to a sprained ankle, but he ended up being good to go. Fast forward to now, he’s not even on the injury report for Boston’s game against the Nets.

He revealed after the loss to Atlanta that he would play in Brooklyn.

Al Horford is out against the Nets on Wednesday night. While the injury report says he’s dealing with a sprained toe, he’s likely just sitting out because it’s the second night of a back-to-back.

As for Jaden Springeris set to miss his third straight game against the Nets with a knee problem.

Brooklyn is dealing with a few injuries himself. Most notably, Dorian Finney-Smith is added to the damage report. He is listed as questionable due to an ankle injury.

In addition Bojan Bogdanovic, Day’Ron Sharpeand Trendon Watford are all out for the game against the Celtics. None of the three have played in a game yet this year.

Bogdanovic is dealing with a foot problem, while both Sharpe and Watford have some foot problems.
