PEOPLE’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive has had us swooning for years, ever since he starred as Jim Halpert on the hit NBC series The office. After his career-defining role, the actor went on to lead films like 13 hours and A quiet place (which starred his wife, Emily Blunt), as well as Amazon’s political thriller show Jack Ryan.

Although he stated that he was surprised to find himself with the title, these photos prove that he has been a contender since the beginning.
