People Magazine Names The Office Star John Krasinski 2024’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’

John Krasinski, star of The office and A quiet placehas been named People“Sexiest Man Alive” from 2024.

Stephen Colbert made the surprising announcement on his talk show Tuesday night, where Krasinksi took the crown Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey who won last year.

“I’m so proud to see my friend go from a goofy, lovable boy next door to a big, dumb sex bitch,” Colbert said.

Krasinski starred as Jim Halpert in the American version of the British sitcomThe office from 2005 to 2013 and recently played Jack Ryan in the Amazon Prime Video series of the same name for four seasons. He also had a brief Marvel cameo as Mr Fantastic in the MCU film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Krasinski joked about the announcement with Colbert, explaining that the only person he told was fellow actor Matt Damon.

“The only person I slipped up and told was that the day we were shooting, I went to Matt Damon’s birthday party,” Krasinksi explained. “When I came in — yeah, name drop, don’t worry — when I came in, he was having such a great birthday and I was late to the party. And he was like ‘oh, man, why are you late? Because what?’ and I was like,’Folks Sexy!”

The actor also announced that he will reprise his role as Jack Ryan in an upcoming film during his Colbert appearance.

Krasinski has been married to actress Emily Blunt since 2010. The couple have two daughters: 10-year-old Hazel and seven-year-old Violet. Blunt has revealed that their daughters are shielded from the public, tells Sunday Times in 2021 that they are “ignorant” of their parents’ fame.

Dempsey, best known for his role as Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd in the hit medical drama, was previously awarded the title in an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! November last year.

Kimmel introduced Dempsey, who is also a racing driver, as one of the “founding members of the handsome men’s club, dating back to 2010,” who are now “rocked to the top of the sexy mountain.”

When asked how his family reacted, Dempsey revealed: “They laughed. Pretty hard.”

People Magazine has named someone the “Sexiest Man Alive” every year since 1985, awarding the first title to actor Mel Gibson.
