Disney star Skai Jackson, 22, confirms pregnancy with boyfriend months after domestic battery arrest drama

Skai Jackson is expecting her first child.

The actress, 22, announced her pregnancy with Peoplewith the outlet sharing photos of the star and her budding baby bump.

Jackson is expecting his first child with his girlfriend, whose identity is not yet known.

‘I’m excited to begin this new chapter in my life – embracing motherhood and diving into new acting projects. My heart is so full!’ she told the publication.

In photos posted by the outlet, Skai showed off her baby bump in a purple crop top as she enjoyed an outing with her mother Kiya Cole.

It comes after Skai sparked pregnancy rumors last week while she was spotted in LA cradling her baby bump.

The pregnancy news comes several months after Skai was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery but not charged.

In September, it was revealed that the Los Angeles District Attorney’s office declined to file charges and dropped the case against her.

She was previously arrested on August 8 at Universal Studios CityWalk in Los Angeles, California after an alleged altercation with her boyfriend.

Police responded to a call from the theme park after security personnel detained Jackson for allegedly pushing her boyfriend.

Deputies reviewed the surveillance footage of the alleged incident.

No weapons were involved and there were no identifiable injuries, the sheriff’s department confirmed at the time.

“Skai is relieved that the investigation revealed that this was nothing more than a misunderstanding,” a representative for Jackson said in a statement obtained by PEOPLE.

“We appreciate that the DA decided very quickly that there should be no charges of any kind and Skai looks forward to putting this behind him,” it added.

At the time of her arrest, police sources told TMZ she told arresting officers she was ‘happily engaged and expecting a baby.’

The star — who dodged questions from fans surrounding her arrest — did not have charges against her due to prosecutors finding a lack of evidence, TMZ reported Saturday.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office informed the outlet that the case will not proceed because Jackson has no criminal history.

The alleged victim, her boyfriend, was not injured and was not cooperating with prosecutors.

Jackson is best known for her roles on the Disney Channel sitcom Jessie and spin-off Bunk’d, both of which ended in 2018.
