Former President Donald Trump, considered a political outcast after losing the presidency in 2020 and an attack by his supporters on the US capital, swept the polls on Wednesday in a decisive and stunning victory over Vice President Kamala Harris, securing a second term in office.

Shortly after Trump’s victory was announced and Harris conceded, Trump’s eldest grandson Kai Trump posted a photo of the former and future president with his family and Tesla founder Elon Musk with the caption: “The whole squad.”

The family photo appeared to include all of Trump’s five children and many of his grandchildren, although his wife Melania was missing.

Trump married three times and has five children and 10 grandchildren in total. Here’s what you need to know about Trump and his family.

Born and raised in Queens, New York, Trump, 78, is a real estate developer Fredrick Trump Sr.and Scottish immigrant Mary Anne MacLeod Trump’s five children. Trump attended New York Military Academy in Cornwall, New York and later attended Fordham University in the Bronx and the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania.

Trump entered the world of finance in his family’s real estate business, which he renamed Trump Organization. After making a name for himself in real estate, he starred in a reality TV show. In 2016, Trump was elected to 45th president. He lost his re-election bid to Joe Biden in 2020.

He shares three children with Ivana Zelníčková

Trump married Ivana Zelníčková in 1977, and the couple had three children together – Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka and Eric – before separating in 1980. Ivana died in 2022 at the age of 73.

Donald Trump Jr., 46, who was a constant fixture on the Trump campaign trail, has five children with his ex-wife, Vanessa. Ivanka Trump Kushner, 43, and her husband Jared Kushner, both former senior White House aides, have three children. Eric, 40, and his wife, Lara Trump, co-chair of the Republican National Committee, have two children together.

He shares another daughter with Marla Maples

From 1993 to 1999, Trump was married to actress Marla Maples and has a daughter, Tiffany Trump, 31, with her. Tiffany is married to businessman Michael Boulos and the couple is expecting their first child together, People reported.

He shares another son with his now wife Melania Trump

Trump married Melania in 2005, and the couple have a son, Barron Trump, 18, who is a freshman at New York University’s Stern School of Business and the tallest member of the Trump family.

The couple will celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary next year in January.

Trump has 10 grandchildren and one on the way

Trump has 10 grandchildren from his three older children Trump Jr., Ivanka and Eric. His fourth child, Tiffany, is expecting her first child, although her due date is not yet known.

Trump’s eldest grandson, Kai, 17, made his political debut on stage at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin earlier this year in July.

“To me, he’s just a normal grandpa,” Kai had said. “He gives us candy and soda when our parents aren’t looking. He always wants to know how we are at school.”

The avid golfer shared that she and her grandfather bond over a mutual love of golf.

“When we play golf together, if I’m not on his team, he’ll try to get into my head and he’s always surprised that I don’t let him get to me,” Kai said. “But I have to remind him that I’m a Trump too.”

“A lot of people have put my grandfather through hell and he’s still standing,” she had added.

Trump has four siblings

Trump has four siblings, three of whom have passed away. His sister Maryanne Trump Barry died in 2023 at the age of 86, while his brothers Fred Trump Jr. died in 1981 aged 43 and Robert Trump in 2020 aged 72. His sister Elizabeth Trump Grau, 82, meanwhile, keeps a low profile, according to the New York Times.
