‘SNL’ Cold Open Mocks Elon Musk, Reveals ‘Hot, Jacked Trump’

First episode of Saturday Night Live since Donald Trump’s election victory, billionaire Elon Musk mocked and debuted a “Hot, Jacked Trump” as the cast insisted they’ve been with the Republican “all along.”

The episode’s cold open began soberly as the cast discussed Trump’s victory over Vice President Kamala Harris earlier this week.

“On Tuesday, Americans went to the polls and elected Donald Trump to be the next president of the United States,” said Bowen Yang.

“For many people, including many people watching this show right now, the results were shocking and even horrifying,” Ego Nwodim said.

“Donald Trump, who tried to forcefully overturn the results of the last election, was returned to office with an overwhelming majority,” said Heidi Gardner.

“This is the same Donald Trump who openly called for revenge on his political enemies,” Kenan Thompson said.

“And now thanks to the Supreme Court, there is no guard rail,” Yang said.

Then Thompson delivered the punchline: “That’s why we at SNL would like to say to Donald Trump, we’ve been with you all along.”

Yang added, “We have never wavered in our support for you, even when others doubted you.”

Sarah Sherman said, “Every single person on this stage believed in you.”

And Marcello Hernández added: “Every single person on this stage voted for you.”

The crew members went on to praise Trump, while Thompson added, “If you keep some kind of list of your enemies, then we shouldn’t be on that list.”

Sherman then introduced a new character “Hot, Jacked Trump,” making James Austin Johnson appear as a muscular version of the president-elect.

He then claimed that the show – which has long mocked Trump – would now have only a flattering impression.

“They finally got the body right,” Johnson said, using his Trump voice. “But from now on, we’re going to do a very flattering portrayal of Trump, because frankly, he’s my hero and he’s going to be an incredible president and eventually king. We love you, mate.”

Thompson later said that “worst case scenario, meaning scenario if our planet falls apart, we can all go to Mars with the other man that we love and trust: Elon Musk.”

Dana Carvey then arrived on stage, debuting an impression of the X owner, who was one of Trump’s biggest donors and could have a formal role in the incoming administration.

Carvey’s Musk mimicked Musk’s antics on the campaign trail, jumping up and down and doing some dance moves while the show’s cast members looked on with straight faces.

“Check it out: dark MAGA. Yes! But seriously, I run the country now,” he said.

“America is going to be like one of my rockets. They’re super cool and super fun, but there’s a small chance it might blow up and everyone dies. Ha ha! I’m dark MAGA. See you in It White House. USA! USA!”

The episode was the first time this season SNL didn’t begin with Maya Rudolph as Harris, who made a surprise appearance as herself in last week’s episode.
