Tom Selleck is a family man on and off screen. That said, there are few sightings of the 79-year-old actor with his real-life family. This month, however, Tom brought his wife and daughter into the spotlight while still sharing it with his beloved on-screen family.

Thursday 17 October was Tom and it blue blood cast participated in PaleyFest 2024, an annual festival celebrating the biggest names and shows on television. Tom posed with during the event Donnie Wahlberg, Bridget MoynahanMarisa Ramirez, Vanessa Ray and Len Cariou – but he also made a point to bring his real-life family along for the ride. As special as it was to see Tom out with his family, many were even more focused on his refreshed appearance. Now that blue blood has finished filming, Tom has said goodbye to his iconic clean-cut mustache in favor of a grown-up haircut and gray beard.

Although Tom was all smiles at the event where attendees were previewed last episode of blue blood and enjoy a panel with the cast, he is far from thrilled that his role as New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan is coming to an end.

“I’m a little frustrated. For the last eight shows, I haven’t wanted to talk about an ending for blue blood but that it is still wildly successful,” revealed Tom in an interview with TV Insider. “In a Top 100 shows in 2023-2024 (total viewers, we were #9 out of 100), if you value the three football programs, we’re #6! I don’t want to turn into a bitter old guy says: ‘ Get off my lawn!’ I don’t believe in holding grudges, but if you were to say to the television network, ‘Here’s a show you can put on in the worst time slot you’ve got, and it’s going to guarantee you a win on Friday nights for the next 15 year ,’ it would be almost impossible to believe. My frustration is that the show was always taken for granted because it appeared from the beginning.

New episodes of blue blood airs Friday night on CBS. Not ready to kiss your favorite blue blood characters goodbye? Relive the magic on Paramount+; or enjoy limited episodes on Hulu.
