Bucks vs. Knicks preview, kickoff time, TV schedule and injury report

The Milwaukee Bucks won a game last night! A 123-100 victory against Utah Jazz snapped Milwaukee’s six-game losing streak, and now they hope to create a winning streak for the first time this season against New York Knicks.

Where we are

It took a half, but the Bucks finally seemed to put it all together. The Bucks outscored the Jazz 66-39 in the second half and they looked like the Bucks we expect. Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo fueled the offense with contributions from the rest of the squad. The Bucks’ defense finally showed some ability to get stops. Could the change in fortunes be a precursor to the Bucks turning things around, or is it that they played the Utah Jazz, arguably the worst team in the league? Doc showed a willingness to make changes, starting with Andre Jackson Jr. replacing Gary Trent Jr. GTJ got only a short run in the first quarter, but did not see the field the rest of the game, and Delon Wright was a DNP-CD. Is this just a one-off or a sign of things to come?

The New York Knicks are aiming high this season after capturing the two seed in the East last year and acquiring Karl-Anthony Towns. Things didn’t start well, with a beating handed to them Boston Celtics to start the season. The Knicks have an unusual 3-4 record and recently lost to Atlanta Hawks Wednesday evening. The Knicks’ offense has played very well, but their defense has struggled. Part of that is a lack of rim protectors, with the loss of Isiah Hartenstein via free agency in the summer, Mitchell Robinson injured, and KAT not being a good rim protector. Thibs will grind his rotation players to dust, but the Knicks should be healthy enough tonight.

Damage report

Milwaukee will once again be without Khris Middleton. The Knicks won’t have Robinson and Precious Achiuwa tonight, and old friend Cam Payne is questionable.

Player to watch

AJ Green has called in. It’s been a rough start to the season, but the guard has been hot from three and was a key factor in Milwaukee’s run in the second quarter and later in the game. Gabe got the quote from Dame about Green’s shooting ability, and as he mentioned in the extended recap, it’s time for him to take all of Pat Connaughton’s minutes.
