Cheese recall: Brie pulled off shelves in 12 states, throw out ASAP or return for a refund

Six different types of Brie cheese are being recalled in 12 states, including New Jersey, due to the presence of listeria.

Savencia Cheese USA recalled the six different kinds of Brie after routine testing of the processing equipment at the factory where the cheese is made found the presence of listeria contamination, according to the US Food and Drug Administration.

So far, no illness or death has been reported in connection with the current recall.

Cheese Recall 2024

The cheeses had “limited distribution” in stores across the US, but the few supermarkets that carried the product, Aldi and Market Basket, had pulled them from their shelves.

The FDA warned that consumers in possession of the recalled cheeses should not consume them and return them to their place of purchase for a full refund.
