Beyonce, Charli XCX led 2025 recipients

game

Not that the most awarded artist in Grammy history needs a crowning, but Beyoncé can still get one.

Already lauded with 32 Grammys, the multihyphenate superstar leads the nominations to the 67th annual Grammy Awards with 11 for her county “Cowboy Carter” album, notably being recognized for Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Song of the Year (“Texas Hold ‘Em”).

After Beyoncé on the nomination list, all members of the seven-nod club are Charli xcx, Billie Eilish, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone. They are followed by a trio of artists who each score six nominations: Taylor Swift and newcomers to the Grammy World, Sabrina Carpenter and Chappell Roan.

This year’s awards ceremony will take place on February 2nd at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+.

The unusually diverse list of nominees for the 2025 ceremony includes André 3000 and Jacob Collier vying for album of the year alongside Beyoncé, Carpenter, Charli xcx, Swift, Eilish and Roan, while top new artist contenders are Benson Boone, Teddy Swims, Doechii , Khruangbin, RAYE, ShaboozeyCarpenter and Roan.

Those looking for veterans can salute the recording of The Beatles’ AI-produced “Now and Then” (Record of the Year, Best Rock Performance) and the Rolling Stones (Best Rock Album, “Hackney Diamonds”).

Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, credits zigzagging genre recognition to the 13,000 voting members of the Recording Academy, a group that itself has diversified with 66% new voters, including 3,000 women, since 2019.

Gone are the days when “people thought it was three old guys in the back closet” coming up with nominations, Mason told USA TODAY. “Our voters put their heart and soul into their jobs … The trend I’m seeing is excellence. There’s so much great music on this year’s list.”
