Video: Napoli-owned Osimhen raises profile in Galatasaray-Tottenham

Napoli-owned striker Victor Osimhen raised his profile and presumably his price tag while on loan at Galatasaray, scoring twice in a matter of minutes against Tottenham in the Europa League tonight.

The Nigerian national team player was sent to Turkey on loan the following summer transfers to Chelsea and Al Ahli fell apart.

It was hoped that this would allow him to gain regular playing time and convince previously hesitant clubs that he was worth somewhere close to the release clause in his contract, which has now been lowered from €130 million to €90 million in the January window, then €75m. in June 2025.

That plan could well work, as the 25-year-old has four goals and four assists in seven competitive games, and that fits well with former Napoli forward Dries Mertens.
