FOMC notes another unanimous interest rate decision

The Federal Open Market Committee voted unanimously to cut interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point on Thursday.

It was back to business as usual for the Federal Reserve’s rate-setting committee, with members in lockstep at the end of Thursday’s two-day meeting.

During the previous policy meeting in September, Governor Michelle Bowman rejected the majority decision to cut interest rates by an aggressive half percentage point. Bowman argued that she would have preferred to lower the target range for the federal funds rate by just a quarter of a percentage point.
