Rome destination for finish on Thursday

Following on from Wednesday’s winner at Coventry, today’s Thursday football betting focuses on the Europa League and I’ve highlighted a goal-based selection in one of the games.

Lazio vs Porto

Europa League

Thursday 7 November at 8 p.m

Lazio will look to maintain their 100% start to their Europa League campaign when they welcome Porto to the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday night in a game that appeals to me for goals.

Marco Baroni’s hosts have slammed in 33 goals in their first nine Serie A and Europa League contests this campaign, with 15 (45%) coming on their travels.

Only defensively strong Juventus have prevented Lazio from scoring this season – with The Biancocelesti hitting multiple times in 11 (79%) of their matches – and will look to continue their impressive form in front of goal against a Porto backline that has supplied six goals across their opening three Europa League meetings this term.

Vítor Bruno’s hosts have scored 34 goals across their opening 13 Primeira Liga and Europa League games this season, with seven (21%) of those coming in their three European competitions.

The Dragons have remarkably struck on multiple occasions in 12 (92%) of those matches – only failing to do so against runaway domestic leaders Sporting CP – and will look to continue their excellent form in front of goal against a Lazio defense that has only registered three clean sheets in the league and Europe this campaign.

Today’s bet

Lazio’s first 14 Serie A and Europa League matches this term have averaged 3.43 goals per game. game, with over 2.5 goals in an impressive 12 (86%) of them – and given the same has landed in eight of Porto’s last nine Primeira Liga and Europa League outings – I’m happy to bet that there are at least three strikes between these two in-form attacks in the Italian capital on Thursday evening.

  • Over 2.5 goals
  • Pays 17/20 (Unibet)
