No Man’s Sky now runs at 8K on PS5 Pro

It’s been a super cool week discovering how games take advantage of Sony’s new PSSR technology on the PS5 Pro, but one of the most fascinating was how Hello Games has used the technology for No Man’s Sky.

As confirmed by the team, the game now runs at 4K/60FPS, and if you have an 8K monitor, you can also run the game at 8K/30FPS. To my knowledge, this makes it the second game to use 8K on PS5 (first being F1 2024).

That’s not all that’s improved though, with improved lighting, ultra-quality reflections, higher-quality ambient occlusion across the board, and these updates come across PlayStation VR2.

We’ve just published our PS5 Pro review. In it, we said: “PS5 Pro delivers meaningful visual improvements across the board. In most cases, that means 4K resolution at butter-smooth 60 FPS, but thanks to PSSR, this feels like just the beginning of what’s possible. Although not will be for everyone at this price point, those who indulge will not be disappointed”
