Beer stores open later on Remembrance Day in Ontario

While Remembrance Day is not a statutory holiday and schools and most businesses will remain open, some businesses have chosen to change their opening hours, including the Beer Store.

Today, the beer store announced that on Monday, November 11, most stores across the province will open at noon instead of 10 p.m.

A select number of stores in Dryden, Ottawa, Gloucester, Nepean, Kanata, Manotick, Orleans and Stittsville will open at 12:30 p.m

There is no indication that beer shops in the GTA are shutting down entirely to observe the event.

While workplaces are not required to give employees the day off, some other businesses may also choose to close or open later to allow people time to attend ceremonies and events held to honor the Canadian Armed Forces and those who have served in the defense of the country.

The day always takes place on 11 November at 11

Federal government offices, banks and post offices are typically closed.
