Philadelphia police said they are aware of social media posts calling for looting and other criminal behavior Wednesday night.

Police said officers have been dispatched to several areas of the city for possible looting.

“Criminal behavior will not be tolerated and our officers are prepared to take all appropriate action where warranted,” Philadelphia Police Sgt. Eric Gripp said in a statement. “As Commissioner (Kevin) Bethel stated at Monday morning’s press conference, we will continue to increase patrols and staffing in the coming days as needed to protect our business community.”

Police said they will monitor social media throughout the evening and share intelligence with partner agencies. They are asking anyone who sees anything suspicious to call 911.
