Vivek Ramaswamy, whose predictions have previously made headlines for being accurate, again went viral on social media for another prediction he made last year.

Ramaswamy shared a video from the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) 2023 in which he is heard saying: “Mark my words. I predict a 1980-style, 1984-style landslide election in this country.”

Ramaswamy re-shared the video on Wednesday with the caption: “My favorite prediction: a 1980-like election *landslide*. It seemed unthinkable back in March 2023. Now it’s reality.”

The Indian-American Republican, who ran for president only to later drop out and support US President-elect Donald Trump, was referring to Trump’s victory over Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee and the US vice president.

Trump won decisively by collecting 292 electoral college votes.

Ramaswamy in the 2023 video referenced Ronald Reagan, the Republican nominee who defeated incumbent President Jimmy Carter, a Democrat. Reagan won decisively with 489 electoral votes to Carter’s 49 in 1980.

He also referred to the 1984 re-election of Reagan, which he won by a landslide against Democratic challenger Walter Mondale. Reagan received 525 electoral votes, while Mondale received only 13.

“Another Vivek prophecy fulfilled!,” wrote conservative commentator and author Ashley St. Clair.

Donald Trump had hinted at a potential role for Vivek Ramaswamy in his administration, praising his intelligence and abilities during a campaign in October.

Ramaswamy also made headlines when he predicted earlier this year that President Joe Biden would not be the Democratic Party’s presidential nominee.
