Sara Haines reaches out to shut down Joy Behar’s cell phone live on ‘The View’

The only thing that can (almost) derail America’s collective sprint to the polls? Another cyber attack from one of Joy Behar’s notoriously disruptive digital devices on The view.

Once again, the 82-year-old’s tireless fight against inanimate objects has reached the front line of the Hot Topics table, with Behar’s cell phone going off on perhaps the most important day of The view‘s direct political coverage.

After earlier on-air battles with her phone and Siri — who once interrupted Behar on the show to give her directions to her seat at the table — Behar’s iPhone spoke up during a discussion about political loyalties between couples during the heated 2024 election cycle.

“I don’t know, I wouldn’t even let him give me the Heimlich maneuver, that’s how little I feel for people,” Behar said of how she would feel if a partner revealed he was a Trump supporter. A sound then clapped through the show’s airwaves, prompting Sara Haines to reach out and take matters — and Behar’s phone — into her own hands.

“I understand,” said the emergency responder. “I fixed it. I fixed it.”

Previous attempts to quell Behar’s bitter war with her entities included a remarkable military maneuver by panelist Sunny Hostin, who once grabbed Behar’s phone and shepherded it backstage during a live broadcast when it tried to hijack the show.

However, Behar’s most intense encounter with a non-breathing, non-living entity came in March 2022 when she attempted to take a seat on a swivel chair, which gave way and led to her tumbling onto the set below live on air.

Behar’s problems with various things are not limited to the Hot Topics table, however, as she once revealed that her apartment building’s elevator once tried to kidnap her.

Still, nothing compares to Behar’s smackdowns with her fellow human beings — like, for example, the Italian woman she called a bitch during a European vacation.
