Europe’s champion marksman strikes again to continue scandalous record

Two master marksmen clashed on Tuesday as Sporting CP hosted Manchester City in the Champions League.

And it is the former Coventry striker Victor Gyokeres who has had a better first half than Erling Haaland.

Phil Foden put Manchester City ahead after just four minutes, before Gyokeres missed a glorious chance midway through the first half to equalise.

But minutes later he made up for his mistake and produced a superb finish to grab his 21st goal of the season in 17 games and send the sides into the break at 1-1.

In fact, he has yet to draw a clean sheet in a European home game in which he started.

Will he still be a Sporting player next season?
