Standing together against the billionaire class and their twin parties — Claudia & Karina 2024

The Claudia De la Cruz/Karina Garcia Presidential Campaign is pleased to announce a pair of key deals aimed at maximizing the impact of progressive candidates challenging the two-party system.

The Claudia-Karina campaign has achieved ballot status in 19 states and write-in status in an additional 24 states plus Washington, DC, and in all of these states we are encouraging people to vote Socialist! In the remaining states, we encourage our supporters to cast votes where possible for anti-genocide and anti-Wall Street bipartisan candidates. In Alaska, we encourage our supporters to vote for Cornel West and Melina Abdullah of the Justice for All Party, who in turn encourage their supporters to vote for Claudia and Karina in Florida, Hawai’i, New Mexico, Mississippi, and Tennessee. In Montana and Arkansas, we encourage our supporters to vote for Jill Stein and Butch Ware of the Green Party, who encourage their supporters to write in Claudia and Karina in Indiana and North Dakota.

In Alaska, West/Abdullah is listed on the ballot, but we are not, while the reverse is true in Florida, Hawai’i, New Mexico, Mississippi, and Tennessee. In Montana and Arkansas, Stein/Ware is listed on the ballot, but we are not, while in Indiana and North Dakota, we have official write-in status, but Stein/Ware is not.

These agreements are based on common principles. All three of our campaigns are against the American war machine and the genocide of Palestinians. We believe that the essentials of a life of dignity – such as housing, health care, education and a job that pays a living wage – should be guaranteed rights. We oppose racism in all its forms and demand reparations for black America. We share an understanding that the destruction of the environment is rooted in capitalist exploitation. This does not mean that we agree on all issues or have exactly the same vision for the future. But these core values put us on the same side of the main struggle of our time: the struggle to end the dictatorship of the billionaire class and establish a new system where people and the planet come first.

This is a moment of crisis for working people. Necessities have become nearly impossible to afford, devastating natural disasters are occurring due to climate change, abortion rights are being shredded, and US support for Israel’s genocide in Gaza threatens to spark a massive regional war. But at the same time, the ultra-rich keep getting richer, and arms industry executives and fossil fuel companies line their pockets while the world burns. This cannot continue – we need a new system!

And yet, politicians from the Democratic Party have the nerve to call progressive third-party campaigns “spoilers” who help Trump, as if they don’t share responsibility for this dire state of society that is pushing people to rightfully seek an alternative. Both Democrats and Republicans promise the world on the campaign trail, but never solve the problems they promise to solve. Instead, they serve their true constituents on Wall Street and corporate boardrooms. It is both a moral and a practical requirement to break with the two-party system.

The fight for a better world will continue long after November 5. Having the largest possible vote for progressive third-party candidates is a crucial step. But the most important thing is what we do after election day. The only way fundamental change has ever happened is when people organize and demand it, and fight with enough determination to overcome the obstacles the rich and powerful have put in their way. We look forward to building the widest possible unity for the upcoming match.
