Exclusive clip: ‘Hitpig!’ Coming up with a Slapstick Sidekick

Hit girl

What’s a road trip without some music? Peaceful? Meditative? Well, the gruff pig star off Hit girl! will never know… In a new clip shared with Animation Magazine by our friends at Viva Pictures, the snooty bounty hunter struggles to carry his precious cargo: an easily distracted, loud distracting elephant named Pickles.

Directed by Cinzia Angelini (Mila) and David Feiss (Cow and chicken), Hit girl! is based on the best-selling children’s book Pete & Pickles by Pulitzer-winning author/illustrator Berkeley Breathed (Bloom County), with a screenplay by Dave Rosenbaum & Tyler Werrin (The Lorax) and with a score by Isabella Summers of Florence & the Machine.

Synopsis: Hitpig (Jason Sudeikis) is a clever bounty hunting pig who captures escaped animals and returns them to their owners. His next job is his biggest yet: return a dancing elephant named Pickles (Lilly Singh) to a mad Vegas showman (Rainn Wilson), for one million dollars. The mission quickly escalates into a wild adventure around the world. When danger threatens, it’s up to Hitpig to save the day, but he can’t do it alone. He must realize that some things are more important than a paycheck and finds the greatest prize of all, friends.

The voice cast also boasts RuPaul, Flavor Flav, Hannah Gadsby, Anitta, Lorraine Ashbourne, Andy Serkis, Charlie Adler and Shelby Young.

The film is produced by Aniventure (Zoo, Stinghoved) with animation by Cinesite (The Addams Family 2, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem). The producers are Adam Nagle (Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, Cracké) and Dave Rosenbaum (Animal Farm, The Secret Life of Pets).

Hit girl! hits US theaters through Viva Pictures on November 1st. Read more about the making of the film in Animation Magazine‘s feature story from December ’24 here.
