Bleeding lake effect snow affects more of CNY this weekend. Find out how much here!

Central New York will continue to experience wintry weather through the weekend and into next week as cold winds blow over the Great Lakes and cause lake effect snow.

Before I share my updated snowfall forecast maps, here is how much snow has already fallen across Oneida County throughout the day Friday.

Now let’s get right down to it and show you my forecast as of Friday night of how much new snow will fall through this weekend.

Below you will find new snowfall maps for the immediate CNY area.

New snow between 19:00 Friday and 19:00 Saturday for the immediate CNY area:

New snow between 19.00 Saturday and Sunday at 19:00 for the immediate CNY area:

Be sure to add the 2 maps above in your area to get a total amount of new snow until Sunday at 19.00!

If you live a little further out of the immediate CNY area, here are the same two weather forecast maps, just zoomed out a bit so you can see more places.

New snow between 7pm Friday and 7pm Saturday across much of Upstate NY:

By the time we get to Monday, a regular blizzard should stay well to the south. This means that while it is still cold with some showers, most of our area should get a break in heavier snow.

Remember that the cold weather will continue throughout next week. It looks like some lake effect snow should rebuild parts of central New York starting Monday night and continuing through the week. However, it looks like this lot of snow will likely be lighter than what parts of our area will see this weekend.

We will keep you updated.
