Bargain £12m deal sealed for West Ham’s top target as David Sullivan faces race against time

Majority owner David Sullivan is back in charge of transfers at West Ham and now faces a race against time for a confirmed target.

West Ham were already looking to sign a new striker in the January transfer window.

But it has now become an absolute necessity.

David Sullivan has taken ultimate control of transfers back from Tim Steidten and the manager.

Sullivan is unhappy with how the £155m was used in the summer when West Ham worked under flop boss Julen Lopetegui.

Both he and Steidten are therefore on the edge.

Michail Antonio’s car crash and Jarrod Bowen’s broken foot mean the Hammers simply have to find a way to bring in another striker.

The club have admitted they need to sign a ‘top-level striker’.

Danny Ings just hasn’t trained and will leave when his contract expires at the end of the season.

A bargain at £12m. sealed for West Ham’s top goal

The reality is that the Hammers will need to sign at least two new strikers in the next two windows.

But West Ham’s owners have said the club is at its PSR limit. Therefore, loans with options or obligations may be the path of least resistance.

Bringing in a striker in January should see the Irons through to the end of the season.

There is uncertainty about Niclas Fullkrug’s future.

Fullkrug is unsettled in England and wants to leave West Ham, according to a top board source.

David Sullivan faces a race against time for Latte Lath

West Ham confirmed their interest in Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath to Hammers News recently.

West Ham revealed they did not believe ‘Boro would sell Latte Lath as they chase promotion.

Journalist Graeme Bailey wasn’t so sure when he shared a detailed update on West Ham’s forward target recently.

Bailey has strong contacts at ‘Boro and believes they could be tempted to sell Lath if the Hammers hit the right number.

Well the right number has been hit for Latte Lath it seems.

But not by West Ham.

In an exclusive by journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreonthe Sun reporter has revealed that West Ham’s Premier League rivals Leicester have had a £12m bid for Latte Lath accepted by Middlesbrough.

West Ham still have a chance to sign Latte Lath

Nixon has again confirmed West Ham’s interest.

But he says Leicester will only get the chance to speak to him after he has a bid accepted.

Nixon claims the Foxes hope to now agree a deal for Ivory Coast hitman Latte Lath, who has ‘wanted a move for months’.

It is reported that Leicester are close to agreeing a move for the Hammers target.

But it’s not done yet, meaning West Ham still have a chance to hijack the transfer.

Bailey previously told Hammers News that he believed ‘Boro would sell Lath for £25m.

And he revealed that an influential agent close to Sullivan was pushing to get Lath to east London.

“Will Salthouse is trying to do Lath – every player has his price, ‘Boro would take £25m for him – they’ve got Conway who’s really better, but if they did it early enough they could do it,'” said Bailey.
