Dutch star proclaims Inter Milan Supercoppa Italiana ambitions: ‘We want to win every trophy’

Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries has made it clear that the Nerazzurri “want to win every trophy”, including the Supercoppa Italiana.

The Dutchman spoke to SportMediaset, via FCInterNewsahead of tonight’s Supercoppa semi-final clash with Atalanta. He made the team’s ambitions clear.

Today, Inter is playing in the Supercoppa Italiana for the fourth consecutive season.

The Nerazzurri have won it in all of the last three campaigns. They beat the likes of Juventus, AC Milan and then last season Lazio and Napoli to win the trophy.

It is the second season in a row where the Supercoppa is a four-team mini-tournament rather than a one-off match.

The Supercoppa has generally had less importance than the other domestic Italian cup competition, the Coppa Italia.

Nevertheless, it represents an opportunity to win silverware.

Inter have taken advantage of that chance in each of the past three seasons. It has allowed them to build into the team they are today.

Denzel Dumfries: “Inter Milan will win every trophy”

Inter wingback Dumfries gave his thoughts on what today’s game with Atalanta means for the team shortly before kickoff.

Asked if it could be the right final given the form Inter and Atalanta have been in Serie A, the 28-year-old replied “No.”

“Although they are a strong team and they are having a great season.”

“We have to win and then go to the final,” said Dumfries.

“We have a good team and we proved that last season,” continued the Dutchman.

“And now we prove it again.”

Dumfries made it clear that “We will win every trophy.”

“Atalanta is a good team. But we just focus on ourselves.”

“If we play the way we know how to, we are capable of winning everything,” the Inter wing-back was confident.

Meanwhile, Dumfries spoke to InterTV, via FCInterNews.

Of the fact that the last time the two teams met Inter won 4-0, the Dutchman noted that “The last time we met Atalanta, they were not at full strength.”

“They still hadn’t finished the transfer window,” he said. “But now they’re a different team.”

“They are in great form and having a great season. We are ready for a difficult game.”

“Both teams have studied every detail,” Dumfries said. – We know it will be a difficult match.
