Kiwi MMA fighter Hakaraia Wilson dies, aged 26

Kiwi MMA fighter Hakaraia Wilson has died aged 26.

Te Ao News reports that he died suddenly in Gisborne yesterday morning.

“The death is not suspicious and has been referred to the coroner,” police said.

Wilson was in Gisborne to attend Rhythm and Vines, Te Ao News reported.

Wilson began his amateur career in 2020 and had a 4-3 pro MMA record. His last fight was an October victory over Philippines opponent Mark Alcoba at the Canggu Fight Night 32 event in Bali.
