Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James’ youngest son, Bryce James, announced on Wednesday Instagram that he has committed to play his college basketball at the University of Arizona.

LeBron was also quick to announce the news on his personal Instagram, congratulating Bryce on his commitment:

Like his older brother Bronny James once did, Bryce plays his high school basketball at Sierra Canyon School in Los Angeles.

Sore 247 Sportsthe 6’4″, 190-pound guard is a 3-star recruit who ranks as the No. 257 overall player and No. 46 shooting guard in the 2025 class.

James also received scholarship offers from Ohio State and Duquesne, and Bronny’s former school, USC, also expressed interest at one point, according to 247 Sports.

Considering his father is one of the greatest basketball players of all time, Bryce has long been in the spotlight, but he’s not as highly touted as Bronny was coming out of high school.

At that time, 247 Sports rated Bronny as a 4-star recruit and the overall No. 28 in the nation, and the expectation was that he would hit the ground running in the collegiate ranks at USC.

A heart condition caused Bronny to miss the first eight games of his freshman year, and one he returned to, he struggled to establish himself as a key contributor, averaging 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game in 25 contests.

Despite his struggles, Bronny entered the 2024 NBA draft going 55th overall to the Lakers, making him and LeBron the first father-son duo in NBA history to play in a regular season game together .

It’s possible Bryce could follow a similar path, but he seems to be even more of a project than Bronny, meaning he could spend more years in school.

At Arizona, Bryce joins an elite college basketball team that won the national title in 1997 and has reached the Final Four on four occasions.

The Wildcats reached the NCAA Tournament in each of the past three seasons and have made 35 appearances since the 1984-85 season.

Arizona is off to a bumpy 7-5 start so far this season, but it already has a big investment for next season in wing Dwayne Aristode, who is a 5-star prospect and the overall No. 14 players in his class, per 247 Sports.
