NYC man charged with attempted murder after allegedly pushing commuter into path of subway

A man is in critical condition after he was pushed onto New York City subway tracks on New Year’s Eve, adding to a recent spate of violent incidents on the nation’s busiest subway system.

The victim, a 45-year-old man, miraculously survived being hit by an incoming 1 train at the 18th Street station. He suffered a head injury and was listed in stable condition at Bellue Hospital Tuesday night, the New York Post reported.

“By God’s own hand, he fell perfectly into the trench,” a police source told the Post.

The NYPD received a 911 call claiming an assault was in progress at the subway station Tuesday afternoon.
