Could wedding bells be ringing for Lainey Wilson in 2025?

Lainey Wilson and former NFL quarterback Devlin “Duck” Hodges were one of country music’s most beloved couples in 2024, so it’s only natural that fans are buzzing about whether they might take the next step and tie the knot sometime soon.

Bunnie Xo wonders too. During a recent CMT host interview, Bunnie admitted to Wilson that she is “manifesting” a wedding for her in 2025.

“No pressure bro!” Wilson joked, looking directly into the camera and apparently talking to his girlfriend.

It seems like one little the pressure is OK. To hear the “4X4XU” singer tell it, she’s been hoping for a while that a proposal might be on the way. “I might have to propose to him. We’ll wait,” she continued to say.

This isn’t the first time Wilson has joked about being the one to propose to Hodges. When she dropped this year’s Whirlwind album, she included a song called “Counting Chickens” that seemed to suggest that she is ready for marriage. When Taste of Country pressed her for details on whether or not Hodges inspired the song, she had this to say:

“I guess I’ll have to propose to his a–, because he’s not proposed to me!”

  • Hodges is a former quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
  • He and Wilson were announced at the spring 2023 ACM Awards.

But the singer also said she and Hodges have good reasons for taking time to get engaged.

“I think it has to be in a season of our lives where we really have time to enjoy it,” she reflected. “Right now it would be like, ‘Oh shoot, I’m engaged. Okay, on to the next thing.’

Still, it seems Wilson would welcome a proposal whenever it comes. After Bunnie offered his confidence that Hodges will ultimately make it with the honor, Wilson responded with a smile.

“I like that,” she added.
