“All is right in the world”

It’s been a while since we’ve seen beloved ’90s character Tim “The Toolman” Taylor, but this January, Tim Allen is bringing us the next best thing: A new handyman-inspired sitcom on ABC.

“Change gears stars Tim Allen as Matt, the stubborn widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop.” it says in a press release. “When Matt’s estranged daughter (Kat Dennings) and her kids move into his house, the real restoration begins.”

Filled with dad jokes, classic dad-daughter headbutts and teenage antics galore, Change gear is expected to be a hoot – and fans can’t wait to tune in.

“I’m so excited! I needed a Tim Allen fix in my life,” one fan commented on Instagram. “This looks really good! So excited for Tim Allen to be back on TV,” another fan exclaimed. “Yes! Tim Allen AND Kat Dennings?! All is right with the world,” remarked another.

As excited as ’90s babies are to see Tim and Kat together in a comedy, many can’t wait to see Seann William Scott (who famously played Stifler in American Pie), too.

“It’s Stifler!!!!! Great cast!!!!! Tim Allen is the eternal father of all millennials,” one excited fan commented on a post showing the lead role. “Fantastic casting!!! Stifler,” exclaimed another. “Seann William Scott??? I expect ‘Dude Where’s My Car’ references,” joked another.

Change gear premieres on Wednesday 8 January 2025 at 8/7c on ABC, with next-day streaming available at Hulu.
