Gary O’Neil gives encouraging Wolves injury update as more first-team players return for Bournemouth clash

Wolves are set to host Bournemouth on Saturday, with Gary O’Neil giving an encouraging injury update on several Old Gold stars.

Wolves have a big opportunity on Saturday. After a difficult start to the season, the club seemed to have finally turned a corner.

O’Neil’s team is on a four-game unbeaten streak, which includes wins in their last two games.

As a result, the old gold have finally pulled themselves out of the relegation zone and they sit 17th in the Premier League.

With Bournemouth next up, another win could see them pull further clear before they face fellow strugglers Everton in midweek.

Bournemouth are already ready to be without Antoine Semenyo, which is undoubtedly a big boost for the Old Gold.

Now O’Neil has boosted optimism further as he confirmed that several first-team players should be back for the clash.

Santiago Bueno’s importance in the Wolves squad has increased dramatically this season.

Following Yerson Mosquera’s ACL injury, the Uruguayan has been used regularly and has steadily improved as the season has gone on.

In the 2-2 draw against Brighton, Bueno was ‘outstanding’, meaning it was a huge blow when the defender picked up a knock during the recent international break.

After missing the Fulham win, Bueno has since been spotted back in Wolves training.

Now O’Neil has confirmed that he is ready for the showdown and ready for selection.

Expected return: Bournemouth (30 November)

Pablo Sarabia has reappeared in the Wolves set-up after limited playing time at the start of the campaign.

However, just like last season, his performances off the bench against Brighton helped him regain his place in the starting line-up.

This led to the Spaniard scoring an important goal against Southampton before the international break, helping the Old Gold to their first win in the Premier League.

Before the Fulham clash, Sarabia suffered a calf injury which forced him to miss the clash.

Ahead of Bournemouth, Sarabia is also expected to be back after O’Neil confirmed he had recovered.

The goalkeeper was brought in to challenge Jose Sa for the number one spot but has not played since the damning 5-3 defeat to Brentford.

Johnstone was confirmed ill last weekend despite speculation from the Molineux faithful and is expected to return to the squad against Bournemouth.
