Downtown Knoxville will soon be merry and bright with holiday lights.

The Regal Celebration of Lights is set to take place on Friday, November 29 and runs from 5:15-9:00 pm at Krutch Park Extension. The 42-foot-tall Mickey Mallonee Christmas in the City Tree will be lit, bringing the spirit of the holiday season to downtown Knoxville.

People can enjoy live music, crafts for kids, a Home Depot’s Little Elves Workshop, an opportunity to make cards to send to local veterans with Holidays for Heroes and more.

Food trucks will be on site and the Holidays on Ice rink will also be open.

Gay Street closes at 16.30 prior to the event.

The tree is lit at 18. Free activities and music continue with the square illuminated in holiday lights.

When does Knoxville’s Holidays on Ice open?

The downtown Knoxville ice rink also opens on November 29 and will remain open through January 5, 2025. The ice rink is located in front of the Knoxville Chamber at 17 Market Square.
