My Chemical Romance drummer Bob Bryar found dead aged 44

Despite his reduced ability to play, Bryar continued to travel with the band to handle technical duties, such as helping run the stage’s pyrotechnics. He left the band in 2010.

Bryar became heavily involved in dog rescue organizations after he left music and briefly pursued a career as a real estate agent.

TMZ reported that Animal Services traveled to his home to rehome his two dogs after authorities learned of his death.

Bryar, now X, wrote on Twitter last year that he had struggled to deal with online hate and his mental health, but that at the time he was “mentally healthy … humble and ready to move on”.

Current members of My Chemical Romance had yet to comment on Bryar’s reported death as of Saturday night.

The band are scheduled to embark on a sold-out stadium tour of America next year to commemorate The Black Parade.
