The North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball team plays the Michigan State Spartans on Wednesday night (9:30 p.m. ET, ESPN2) in third place in the Maui Invitational at the Lahaina Civic Center in Hawaii.

Overpowered in their semifinal loss to no. 4 Auburn (6-0), the 12th-ranked Tar Heels (4-2) will try to make a total effort against the Spartans (5-2) before heading back to Chapel Hill.

UNC has won 13 of its 17 games against Michigan State, including an 85-69 victory in the 2024 NCAA Tournament. The Heels are 9-2 against the Spartans on neutral courts
