New Jerseyans have another chance to play a small part on the big screen as the makers of “Happy Gilmore 2,” starring Adam Sandler, are looking for new extras to film a scene for the movie this week.

Residents are encouraged to submit an application to portray partygoers in a scene to be filmed Thursday, talent agency Grant Wilfley Casting Inc. (GWCI) advertised on social media. Screen Actors Guild members will be paid $216 for eight hours of work, while non-union workers will receive $176 for 10 hours.

The GWCI Facebook post listed Hoboken as its location, but did not specify if that is where filming will take place. The agency did not respond to a request for additional information Wednesday afternoon.

GWCI only accepts submissions from people who have not played a role in the film before due to the nature of the scene.

Interested applicants should email [email protected] with the subject line “IG Party Guest 11/21.” The email must contain the following information:

  • Name
  • Phone number/email
  • Union status (SAG number or non-SAG member)
  • Confirmation that the applicant is at least 18 years old
  • Confirmation that the applicant has not worked on the film before
  • Height, weight, clothing sizes
  • Recent photographs of the applicant
  • General availability for recordings
  • Whether the applicant is local to New Jersey

If selected, each applicant must present valid identification to complete an I-9 form and be paid for the role.

Adam Sandler in NJ

North Jersey residents have already demonstrated their excitement for “Happy Gilmore 2,” a sequel to the 1996 film starring Sandler as a hockey player turned golfer.

In August, acting hopefuls turned out in droves for an open casting call in Morristown, causing a citywide traffic jam as applicants waited in line. Sandler has also posed for pictures after being seen filming scenes in Verona and Washington Township, among others.

GWCI previously stated that filming would take place in Morris, Bergen, Essex, Somerset and Monmouth counties from September to November. The release date of the film has not been announced.
