Rockets vs 76ers prediction, odds and picks

The Rockets bounced back from their 6-point loss to Portland when they beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 117-111 after OT on Tuesday. That means it will be another back-to-back night for them, but for such a young team, fatigue shouldn’t be too much of an issue. Houston has been one of the most pleasant surprises of the season so far, they are just 1 game out of the top seed in the Western Conference. Their defensive rating is only 2nd to the OKC Thunder, teams are scoring just 103.8 points per game. 100 possessions against them. Philadelphia has been a team they haven’t had much success against, so this could be the perfect opportunity to reverse that trend.

The mood around the 76ers just isn’t good right now. They have lost 6 out of 7 games and are only 2-6 SU in their 8 at home. Paul George and Joel Embiid are out again with their injuries, we just saw the Sixers score 99 points in a 26 point home loss to the Clippers. Without Embiid’s interior presence and the perimeter threat of the PG, Philly is largely relying on Maxey to drive to the basket, which won’t work against one of the best paint defenses in the NBA. Philadelphia’s three ball isn’t falling either, they’re shooting just 31.5% from downtown, only the Orlando Magic are worse than them this season.

I know the 76ers have had the better head-to-head record, but anything but a Rockets win here would be surprising. Houston is 8-1 ATS in their last 9 and has covered in 5 of 7 on the road. I’ll take the reliable Rockets to cover here.

Rockets vs 76ers Prediction: Rockets -5 (-110) available at time of release. Can be played on that track.
