Trader Joe’s opens new store in Austin Metro

BEE CAVE, Texas (KXAN) — Get ready, Trader Joe’s fans! A new store is coming to Central Texas.

Trader Joe’s is opening its fourth Austin-area store in Bee Cave, according to a project application with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The newest store in Central Texas will be in the Shops at The Galleria, replacing an office supply store.

Store construction is expected to start in February and end in June, according to filing estimates, but those dates are not official.

Trader Joe’s has three other locations in downtown Austin, Northwest Austin and Rollingwood.

A company spokesman said Trader Joe’s “plans to open an additional store in Austin” but could not confirm a location or timeline.

The the neighborhood grocery chain sells mostly Trader Joe’s-branded food and housewares, including shopper favorites like cauliflower gnocchi, chili-lime corn tortilla chips, soup dumplings, butternut squash mac & cheese, tangerine chicken, and cheap wine known as “Two Buck Chuck.”
