Here’s how to get Paramount Plus for just $3 a month this Black Friday

We may not have seen a Disney Plus deal yet, but this Black Friday Paramount Plus savings makes up for it.

You can currently grab the streaming service’s ‘Essential’ tier or bundled with Showtime for only $2.99 per month in the first two months. Given that Paramount Plus Essential is normally $7.99 and the Paramount Plus/Showtime bundle weighs in at $12.99p/m, that equates to a $5 or $10 discount, respectively. A saving of 76% isn’t bad by any means, but it’s especially good over Black Friday, when everyone needs attention. You also don’t need any special codes to access this discount as far as I can tell – when I went through the signup process for this offer myself, the till automatically applied the savings.

Annoyingly, the competition hasn’t come out of hiding yet – I’m still waiting for Black Friday Disney Plus deals to pop up. With this offer stealing all the good press, hopefully House of Mouse will come out with a similar discount.

Should you buy Paramount Plus?

OK, this is the million dollar question. Should you really bother with Paramount Plus? As with all streaming services, it comes down to what’s in the library. The studio’s biggest names feature Star Trek (including every previous series and every new release, like Strange New Worlds and Below Decks), the new season of Frasier and movies like Transformers One or A Quiet Place: Day One. If any of these appeal to you, I’d say it’s worth at least dipping your toe in the water with this two-month price cut.

Which deal you get depends entirely on whether you’re a sports fan, as the Showtime package includes the NFL on CBS, the UEFA Champions League and more. To be honest, since it’s been reduced to the same level as the Paramount Plus Essential, despite usually being more expensive, I’d just get the combo deal and cancel when your two months are up anyway. As long as you remember to cancel before it automatically renews before the end of January at the normal, higher price, you won’t lose anything.

Honestly, that’s the kind of discount that would make me try Paramount Plus. Like everyone else, I have more streaming service memberships than I know what to do with, so I’ve always been wary of signing up for more. But for less than a cup of coffee? Yeah, why the hell not. Because this subscription takes us beyond Christmas and the holidays (like the perfect opportunity to plant on the couch), it’s definitely good timing.
